On this date in 1898 William McKinley signed the treaty for the annexation of Hawaii. The Newlands Resolution was the act of Congress that annexed the Republic of Hawaii and create the Territory of Hawaii. In March 1959 Hawaii became a U.S. state.

The quiz is five questions related to Hawaii. The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian Island chain, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles. At the southeastern end of the archipelago are the eight "main islands".
